Mittersill
With its central position and good road links Mittersill lies in the Salzach valley just to the south of Kitzbühel. Mittersill is the focal point of the Upper Pinzgau and is for many the starting point when visiting the attractions of the Hohe Tauern National Park.
The Children`s Hotel Felben is just a short walk from the lively centre. There are lots of shops and cafes to investigate and the excellent infrastructure provides a safe place for your holiday. A children`s doctor and the hospital are just a few minutes away from the hotel.
Mittersill lies at an altitude of 789 metres, which means mild sunny days from the springtime right up into autumn! Our position here in the valley is perfect for the hiker, biker golfer or cross country skier. When you want to get up into the mountains we have a number of cable cars which will bring you right to the very top. In summer visit the alpine meadows or in winter ski on perfectly prepared slopes.

If you want to learn more about Mittersill and the National Park then visit our brand new Hohe Tauern National Park Centre, this state of the art centre was opened in July 2007 and presents information about Austrias highest range of mountains centred around the 3798 metre high "Grossglockner" as well as all you need to know about the flora and fauna and the fascinating world of the glaciers.

In the small Felberturm museum, parents and their children can see how the farmers used to live in this part of Salzburg. We have an old school room from the 19th century and exhibitions about the story of skiing, handicrafts and sacred works of art. The exhibition of minerals shows us that here in the region many precious stones can still be found even gold has been discovered here in the mountains!
Regional culture and traditions aren`t just here in the museum, they can be seen every day in and around Mittersill, whether it be the local musicians or the farmers market, the church festivals or concerts: the people of Mittersill are proud of their traditions.
