For almost 200 years now the children’s hotel and the farm that it originated from has belonged to Scharler Family. Over the years the hotel has developed and grown to become one of Austria’s most popular children’s hotels. Traditional Austrian hospitality is what we know best.

In the year 1824 Balthasar Scharler purchased the Felbermeilingerhof farming estate in Mittersill and since then it has been handed down from generation to generation.

In 2009 Christoph and Petra Scharler took over the running of the hotel but the whole family is still involved in day-to-day life at the hotel: You may well bump into the parents Franz and Barbara Scharler in the morning at the swimming pool, daughter Franziska with the reception team and son Sebastian in the kitchen or on the breakfast buffet. In our restaurant guests are taken care of brother-in-law Rangi along with a number of long-serving staff who have long since become the extended arm of the family.

With the arrival of the first holiday guest from Vienna in 1958, the history of the "Felbermeilingerhof" as a hotel began. Three years earlier, at the request of the municipality, a guest lounge had already been set up in the courtyard. In the following years more and more rooms of the farmhouse were used for guests. In 1989, the Scharler family began to turn the 2-star guesthouse with restaurant into a hotel for wonderful family holidays.

Since 1992 the 4* Hotel Felben has been a children's hotel. Since then the offer for children is constantly improved and enlarged. In 2009 the Children's Hotel Felben received 5 Smileys, the highest award of the Children's Hotels Europe. Since 2019 it also shines as a 4-star superior hotel. Fun and variety, coupled with the greatest holiday comfort, are therefore guaranteed.
