Nestled in the heart of the Salzburger Land, Hotel Felben is much more than just a family hotel – it’s also a traditional working farm. Our farm at a glance
- Around 15 hectares of grassland, which is used as pasture in spring and autumn
- 70 hectares of alpine meadows, which belong to us and 50 hectares more that belong to the Federal Forests, which we are also allowed to use as grazing land
- Multi-space freestall barn for cattle and horses, divided into feeding, exercise, and resting areas
- Two riding arenas, one of them covered
- Petting zoo “Klara’s Ark” with rabbits, chickens, goats, sheep, guinea pigs, alpacas and flies
Exciting activities
Our weekly programme is regularly filled with activities centred around our farm and petting zoo. A highlight are our riding courses, which introduce interested children – and sometimes parents too – to the proper way of handling horses. We start as early as age three, giving the little ones a gentle introduction to riding sport and preparing fun, simple first exercises. Hard‑working boys and girls can also help us clean the rabbit or guinea‑pig pens or even build a sandcastle for the guinea pigs. A pony ride followed by a sausage barbecue by the campfire promises variety and excitement for the entire family. All in all, we can proudly say: our children’s and family hotel with its farm and petting zoo – complete with plenty of animals – is a true highlight that delights both young and old.
